Back to Life, Back to Reality

School is over. This was a bit of a shock to the system, because in the past few weeks I finally was getting used to being a student again. And after all my posts about travelling, reading this will surely be a shock to your system! Instead of going to school daily, I now sit in front of my computer and apply to various jobs and internships for most of the day. It's a grind, but I did the same in March 2009 when I first moved to Vancouver, and things turned out just fine. That said, it sure is hard to concentrate and want to job-hunt when everyone here is getting ready for their 2-month beach holiday, and giving you pitying looks when you tell them that you'll be toughing it out in Milan for most of the summer. ''Oh... you're staying here with the killer mosquitoes? Oh don't worry, Milan isn't that bad in July.'' Tip for the locals: When you can't make eye contact with me during the last part of that comment, I DON'T BELIEVE YOU.

La scuola è finita. Ero un po' scioccato, perchè finalmente in queste settimane ero abituata ad essere una studentessa di nuovo. Poi, dopo tutti questi post di viaggiare, leggere questo sarete sicuramente un po' scioccati anche voi! Invece di andare a scuola ogni giorno, adesso mi metto davanti al computer e mando il mio curriculum per gli stage e i lavori per quasi tutto il giorno. È duro, ma ho fatto la stessa cosa Marzo 2009 quando sono andata a Vancouver, e alla fine è andato tutto bene. Però, non è così facile avere la voglia di cercare un lavoro quando tutti qui si preparano per le loro vacanze di due mesi al mare, e quando mi danno uno sguardo triste quando dico che devo stare qui a Milano per quasi tutta l'estate. ''Ohhh... devi stare qui con le zanzare terribili? Ohhh... non ti preoccupare, non è tanto male il luglio a Milano.'' Attenzione a tutti voi milanesi: Quando non riuscite a guardarmi nell'occhio quando mi dite quell'ultimo parte, NON VI CREDO PER NIENTE.
